Decoding female language can seem next to impossible. Here are 5 classic things that women say when they really mean something else:

 

1.    “Fine”. It’s not fine. If you’ve ever been in an argument with your girlfriend and she says, “it’s fine”, this really means she is totally unimpressed. She thinks that you are so far off base that it’s not even worth explaining her side anymore, so she’s shutting down the conversation. She doesn’t really want to drop it, so take a minute and try to re-approach the conversation from another angle.

2.    “Whatever”. This passive aggressive comment comes from when she feels like the conversation is not going the way that she wants and she doesn’t know how to steer it back. Saying “whatever” is her way of shutting it down and saying, “stop talking about it and leave me alone”. For now, anyway. She never fully wants to drop something until it’s resolved, so try again later.

What Would You Do?: A transgender woman is insulted by a man at a diner. This is a really great segment they did where a trans woman, played by a real trans woman, is insulted and ridiculed by a man (played by an actor, of course) while she serves him at a diner. You’d be surprised at how many people butted in to defend her.

So much faith in humanity restored.

Fucking great how they supported her.

I may need to watch this show more often.

I am literally crying this is making me so happy that there are people who will protect a perfect stranger especially religious people. I’m so used to hearing about people killing, hurting, misgendering people like me that I forget people like this exist.

Yeah, the thing I love about this is that two of the confronters were Christian…one IRISH catholic. Just goes to show that religious people are more accepting than some make them out to be.

For the record I would have totally been someone to just walk up  to the dude and yell in his face.

This made me cry a little. These people are so good, so kind..

Not only does this make me happy that religious people are so accepting but the fact that they were also older people. Usually it’s the older generation that has more problems with those types of things and it just makes me happy. 

My cousin is transgendered. My dad and my uncle were terrified of telling my grandparents. They’re pretty snobby, judgmental, everything has to be just right kind of people. But when they finally told them, they reacted the same way these people did. And it’s absolutely amazing.
